Egyptian Day Year 4

The children in Year 4 were ‘walking like an Egyptian’ on Monday 25th of November, as they dressed up in their finest Egyptian costumes for school. Year 4 have spent the first term learning all about this fascinating society and Monday was the culmination of this topic. To kick start their day, the children learnt all about the gruesome process of mummification. Mr Jones was indeed ‘mummified’ by Miss Powell also known as Anubis the God of Death, for the day; an experience that the children were unlikely to forget having seen their teacher wrapped in metres of toilet paper. The children then performed a dance in assembly to the infamous Bangles song, Walk like an Egyptian.

Following their performance, the children enjoyed a carousel of activities including creating a cartouche and designing their own canopic jar. A great day was had by all!
