The annual Founder's Debate was, as ever, an engaging and informative event, which the audience of Years 7 and 9 - along with many staff and sixth formers - greatly enjoyed. This year followed a Balloon Debate format, with six famous figures from the past and present arguing why they shouldn't be thrown out of an imaginary hot-air balloon that is rapidly sinking.
Five eloquent students from Year 13 and one from Year 9 presented their cases as Cleopatra, Oskar Schindler, Abraham Lincoln, Greta Thunberg, Oscar Wilde and Alexander Fleming, and they faced audience questions with aplomb. There were some fiery exchanges, but it was clear that all the participants had done their research and honed their debating skills. Congratulations to all involved!
