Field Work and Fun in Gredos

This week, we were delighted to take a new batch of enthusiastic Year 8 students to Gredos, a fantastic opportunity for them to get practical. Geography came alive as they waded into the river to measure the effects of erosion and deposition and hiked up to the top of a mountain to see many of the glacial features they have studied this year, all formed 12,000 years ago.

They were also encouraged to get their hands dirty in their two biological studies, one of which asked them to identifying invertebrates in a stream (another fantastic opportunity to get wet).

It was a pleasure to watch them throw themselves into the activities and we are extremely grateful to the Gredos Centre for taking such good care of us.
