Particle Physics talk from Dr. Lastoria

This week Dr. Chiara Lastoria, an expert in High Energy Physics, came to speak to students of Runnymede's Year 11 and 12 Physics classes. Dr. Lastoria currently works at Spain's CIEMAT (Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas) is a public research organization affiliated to the Ministry of Science and Innovation, focused primarily on the areas of energy, environment and technology, and the intersection of these three fields. Her talk was on Particle Physics, in particular the neutrino, a very small piece of matter produced during some types of nuclear reactions, that has no electrical charge and exists for a very short time. Many thanks to Dr. Lastoria for her engaging talk and taking the time to visit Runnymede!
