The Runnymede Model United Nations (MUN) Club is officially in business after an extremely successful weekend at MUN Bilbao.
The four day conference hosted schools from all over Europe, and even the United States, and despite tough competition, the 19 Year 12 students who took part stood out for the quality of their preparation, dedication and confident public speaking.
The opening ceremony, hosted in Deusto University, was a unique chance for our Ambassadors to speak in front of a crowd of more than 500 peers and distinguished Basque government officials.
The resolutions they presented were all well researched and comprehensive, and the vast majority were passed by their committees, and eventually the general assembly, much to the delight of the students.
They also had the chance to work alongside a really diverse range of young people who will, no doubt, have opened their minds and motivated them to think big when looking to the future.
Congratulations to all the students, who were an absolute credit to the school. However, particular
mention to the following students who were chosen by their chairs as some of the best in the conference:
Alvaro R. and Camila G. - Best Delegation on the Artic Council (Aleut)
Maria B. - Member of the Best Delegation in the United Nations (Spain)
Beatriz J. - Best Position Paper
