The Science of Formula One

Last week we had another Physics talk on How to build an F1 car (Formula Student competition) by Prof. García-Pozuelo from the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universidad Carlos III, Madrid.

Prof. García-Pozuelo supervises a group of university students through the Formula Student competition, whereby they have to design, build and run a smaller version of an F1 car in real circuits such as Montmeló or Silverstone.

We learnt about key things to consider in the design, building and testing processes, including the physics behind it!! (Part of which, students cover in their Physics course).

We would like to thank the speaker for his time and effort.
