Anti Bullying Week

The Pre Prep School celebrated Kindness during Anti Bullying Week. Kindness is one of the Core Values at Runnymede. We started off by showing our individuality and uniqueness by wearing Odd Socks to school. We were kind to each other and children added a marble to Ms Barr’s ‘Kindness Jar’; by the end of the week it was full! We discussed Kindness in Assemblies and in class. We shared many of the motivational quotes from the beautiful story of ‘The Boy, The Mole, the Fox and the Horse’ by Charlie Macksey’ but particularly liked the one where the the boy sits on a branch and asks the mole: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” The boy answers, “Kind”. We thought about how we would like others to be kind to us and ways that we can all be kind to each other: helping someone who is hurt, using kind words and kind hands, putting our rubbish in the bin to be kind to the planet. Each Year group from the youngest children in Pre Nursery to the oldest in Year 3 contributed to a lovely display with hearts and kind wishes.
