Two years ago Headmaster Frank Powell decided to set up a Foundation which would fund the provision of first class, British Further Education to pupils from Spanish state schools with outstanding academic records.
Fundación Runnymede College now exists and has set up its first project with the Ayuntamiento de Alcobendas. The Fundación will be providing information, assisting with application and paying fees and accommodation for the successful candidate.
Pupils in Primero de Bachillerato have been invited to apply via the Heads of the six schools in Alcobendas. The first deadline for application was June 30th for those considering Oxbridge; we have processed three applications. The next deadline is August 31st and we are expecting numerous applications for the top fifteen universities in UK.
Applicants have to have obtained C1 English and have an average grade of 9·5 in their academic record. All applicants will be interviewed by us, as well as sitting tests in English and Maths.
The agreement with the Ayuntamiento de Alcobendas was signed on Wednesday 17th July.
