Seventeen students, accompanied by Ms. Howe and Mr. White, embarked on a transformative trip to Nepal with Global Action, focusing on global learning and cultural immersion. The journey began in Kathmandu, where the group explored the vibrant streets and visited the Buddhanath Stupa, receiving blessings from monks. They then traveled to Pokhara, living in a Tibetan refugee camp and experiencing local life by sleeping on the floor. The group engaged in hard work at a local school, installing clean drinking water sanitation units and digging tirelessly. Their efforts were complemented by cultural exchanges with Nepalese children, including the donation of school uniforms. They also visited several NGOs, such as the Gurkha Welfare Trust, VSO, and the Annapurna Conservation Area. The highlight was a challenging five-day trek in the Annapurna region, marked by heavy rain, incredible views, and resilience, staying in traditional tea houses along the way. The trip was an amazing experience for all involved, showcasing the students’ dedication and adaptability.
