  • Degree or NNEB certificate, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Learning & Development or Cache Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education or equivalent
  • a commitment to Safeguarding
  • knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • knowledge of of teaching Phonics and Early Reading
  • knowledge of early Mathematics with a mastery approach
  • be committed to providing stimulating and well-structured learning across all areas of the curriculum
  • a passion for education
  • the ability to work with individual children, groups or supporting the teacher within the classroom
  • relevant UK classroom experience
  • previous experience in an international school – desired not essential
  • excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively and seamlessly individually and as part of a team
  • to be confident in using technology effectively in teaching and learning

The school is looking to recruit an outstanding teacher of Mathematics to join Runnymede Prep School from September 2025.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced specialist Mathematics teacher with the ability and desire to teach Year 4 to Year 8 Mathematics. Subject knowledge must be very secure. The successful candidate will be passionate about Mathematics and be committed to achieving the very best for pupils at all levels. They will be able to engage and motivate pupils using effective methods of teaching and differentiation.

The ideal candidate will be able to plan and deliver lessons for students from Year 4 to 8. We follow a Mastery curriculum and scheme of work for Year 7 to Year 8, and White Rose for Year 4 to Year 6. 

The successful applicant will have:

  • a good honours degree from a British University
  • a PGCE or other qualified teacher status for primary or secondary Mathematics teaching
  • recent experience teaching Key Stage 3 Mathematics
  • excellent teamwork skills and be willing to collaborate on planning and resourcing
  • the ability to modify learning strategies to target the needs of individual students
  • high expectations of pupils’ effort and behaviour, and facilitate this with proven classroom management skills
  • be organised and able to prioritise to meet deadlines
  • be motivated and use initiative to contribute to success of the department
  • be a native level english speaker
  • have a good working knowledge of ICT systems and the application of ICT in the classroom

Other preferable but not essential criteria:

  • Previous experience of an international school
  • Recent experience as a teacher in a school in the UK
