Examination Results 2025

We are delighted to celebrate another year of outstanding success at Runnymede.
In the IGCSE and GCSE examinations, 67% of pupils achieved an A-A*/7-9 at IGCSE (above the UK national average of 22% and the UK Independent school’s average of 48%). Also, more than 25% of our pupils achieved A*-A across all of their subjects, with overall results demonstrating excellence across the board. We are particularly proud to note a marked increase in the very highest grades (A*/9) compared with previous years. An impressive 37% of all grades were awarded at A*, while over two-thirds were at A-A*. In addition, 21 pupils in Year 10 sat their IGCSE French a year early, and every one of them achieved an A*—a testament to both their ability and commitment.

At A Level, 57% of grades were awarded at A or A*, (above the UK national average of 25% and the UK Independent Schools’ average of 47%). Our pupils also showed extraordinary ambition and dedication, with 70% completing four or more A Levels, an achievement undertaken by just over 5% of candidates in the UK. Nearly 20% of our cohort achieved four A*-A grades, while almost 39% left with at least three A*-A grades.

These results are a reflection of the hard work, perseverance, and academic strength of our pupils, and we are immensely proud of all that they have achieved.

University Destinations 2025

We are thrilled that 84% of pupils secured a place at their first-choice university.
Since Brexit, we have seen fewer pupils opting for the UK, with many instead favouring the US or Spain. However, this year saw a notable return to the UK, with 47% of pupils heading there. Impressively, 83% of these pupils will attend Top 10 universities in the UK (as ranked by The Sunday Times Good University Guide). Among them, three pupils have won places at Oxbridge: one to read Materials Science and another Geography at Oxford, and a third, following a gap year, to study Human, Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge.

Meanwhile, 18% of pupils are heading to the US, including five who have secured places at Ivy League institutions: two at UPenn, and one each at Brown, Columbia, and Harvard.

30% of pupils have chosen to remain in Spain, with IE, ICADE, and ICAI proving most popular. We are also delighted that five pupils will be embarking on medical degrees in Spain.

Our pupils’ chosen fields of study reflect both breadth and ambition. Business, Management, Economics, and Finance remain the most popular areas, while Engineering and the Sciences also continue to attract strong interest. International Relations, Politics, and the Humanities have seen significant uptake as well. In addition, a number of pupils are pursuing diverse pathways in Performing Arts, Music, Hospitality, and even Pilot Studies – a testament to the individuality and diverse interests that guide our pupils’ choices.
