We are delighted to share with you that Runnymede College Prep School has recently been invited to join the IAPS
The IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) is a group of schools with excellence at its core. Only schools that hold themselves to a very high standard of teaching are eligible to become members of IAPS, and there is strict criteria regarding their curriculum, pastoral care and staff professional development.
Our inclusion represents a clear hallmark of academic excellence coupled with traditional values which place children’s education at the heart of everything we do, and we are delighted that we are part of a very select group of international members of the IAPS.
This recognition will open doors for our school, and in particular, for our pupils – where we will be invited to participate in many academic, social and sporting events – Runnymede has already entered a ski team into the IAPS Ski Championships in Passo del Tonale, Italy later this term – where we hope to make a suitably large splash!
Our new Prep School Headmaster, Duncan Bailey , has been a longstanding member of the IAPS in his previous role as Headmaster of Cothill House, and he has made it an early priority to help secure Runnymede’s place within this organisation of the best Prep Schools in the world.
Duncan’s experience as a Headmaster, his ambition to always put pupils first, and his dynamic leadership of Runnymede Prep School – the first bespoke Independent Prep School for pupils from Yr 4 to Yr 8 in Spain, was enough to convince the organisation that our inclusion was not only thoroughly deserved, but also desired, as we will add strength and breadth to this elite group.
Andrew Nott Chairman of IAPS came to visit Runnymede at the end of January. At the end of his visit he wrote:
I came away from my visit deeply impressed by what I saw and all those whom I met. You have a truly impressive school and I am delighted that you would like to join our association. The new Prep School building is going to be a tremendous asset to Runnymede and will provide exceptional facilities for the school. I look forward to returning again soon to see it in action!
We are now looking forward to the opportunities which will arise from joining the IAPS, and we trust that Duncan will continue to grow the Runnymede Prep School name by making the most of our new membership.
