Runnymede College is justly proud of its successful Sixth Form, one of the jewels in the school’s crown. Anyone joining the Sixth Form — whether as a pupil transitioning from Year 11, or as a student joining us from elsewhere — will be given the chance to fulfil their potential in a myriad of ways. As our Co-Head of Sixth Form, Mr Crumpton, makes clear in this video interview, our sixth formers are taught by fantastic teachers who will make sure they aim high and achieve excellent grades in their A-levels. Indeed, we are certain that A-levels unlock the doors to a world of opportunity for our students, bringing an incomparable mixture of academic breadth and depth that gives our graduates the possibility of studying at university in the UK, USA, Spain, and the rest of the EU.
A cohesive, dedicated team of staff members work together to provide support and guidance for students applying to higher education systems all over the globe, ensuring that our sixth formers can realise their ambitions and study what and where is best for them, including at Oxbridge and top US colleges. However, we are also committed to being a mixed ability school, and our staff work hard to differentiate and develop individualised teaching strategies, meaning that all our pupils are supported on every step of their academic trajectory.
Not only do Runnymede sixth formers become independent-minded, scholastically rigorous students, they are also encouraged to become brilliantly well-rounded individuals. They can embark on an astonishing range of different co-curricular opportunities — from lunchtime clubs including Chess, Model UN and Biotechnology; to after-school Team Runnymede sports or the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme; to creative activities like the school band, Choir and Drama Club. We are proud to have the staff, coaches and facilities to once again allow our pupils to grow into individuals who are challenged and rewarded by every moment of their Runnymede journey, both within and beyond the classroom.
